The Lubbock Memorial Civic Center informed us earlier today the venue will be closed to outside events through the end of April.  They have been conducting COVID-19 vaccine clinics there since the beginning of the year.    The gin show scheduled for April 8 & 9 as an outside event falls into that time frame.  With this information, we are sad to inform you the gin show has been cancelled.

We hope this gives everyone the chance to pivot and adjust your plans moving forward.  As stated in the January newsletter, we had asked the City of Lubbock to give us an answer on the availability of the Civic Center by this Friday, so we were able to get an answer sooner than expected.

We are still hoping to have a business and membership annual meeting that will probably be a hybrid-type (in-person and virtual) taking place at the Overton Hotel & Conference Center on either April 8 or 9.  As soon as we have things finalized for this meeting, we will notify our membership.

We would like to thank our exhibitors for hanging in there with us through this process.  We sure hope to see you for a gin show in 2022!  Navigating meetings and shows through the pandemic has been challenging and frustrating.  Most of our contracted exhibitors from 2020 had committed to booth space for 2021.  Again, we appreciate your loyalty as you are the lifeblood of the gin show!

Just a reminder that TCGA’s summer membership meeting is scheduled for June 27-29, 2021 at the Omni Barton Creek Resort in Austin.  Let’s hope by this summer the pandemic begins to fade and the government restrictions begin to ease up.   We are all hoping for that.
